March’s Employee Spotlight features Melissa Jaggers from The Hearth at Hendersonville in Tennessee. She is one of our great nurses at our community and has been with us since August of 2016. She is always smiling and energetic with all our staff and residents. She will be celebrating 20 years as a nurse this year which is quite the accomplishment!
Melissa is originally from New Jersey and met her husband Shawn there while he was in the Navy. They have two kids, Emma and Liam. They were both born in a Navy hospital. Melissa grew up in a military family and loves to go to the beach when she can. She is an avid reader and loves all sports like football, baseball, and hockey. She played baseball when she was younger and was a great pitcher.
Her other passion besides nursing is working with rescue animals. She has 3 dogs, 1 cat, a guinea pig, and a fish! All her dogs are rescue animals. She volunteers at The Sumner County ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Melissa loves hiking with her family at Bledsoe State Park here in Tennessee. Her favorite restaurants are Carrabba’s and The Chop House. Melissa loves working at The Hearth at Hendersonville and is passionate about her profession as a nurse. We thank her for her hard work and for continuously loving every single one of our residents!
We want to thank Melissa for willing to share with us about herself and her life! We also want to thank Rick Applegate, Activity Director, at The Hearth of Hendersonville for helping us put together this great spotlight piece!
