Aline Self has been a resident at The Hearth at Hendersonville in Tennessee for the past 2+ years. She moved to our beautiful community on December 31st 2014. We asked Aline if she would share with us a little about her life.
Aline was married to her husband, Samuel, for 54 years. They lived in Dickson County, Tennessee most of their lives. Together, they have three children; Greg, Karen, and Cindy. They loved to camp and had a motor home they took to Land Between The Lakes in Kentucky for years. Aline and Sam eventually bought a cabin by Lake Barkley because they loved being out in nature. For many years, Aline worked at the Acme Boot company in Clarksville, Tennessee which was the largest maker of cowboy boots until the mid-1980’s. In her spare time, Aline loved to sew, cross stitch, and crochet everything. She would make her kids clothes by hand and dresses that were just like the clothes the stores would sell. She had fancy sewing machines over the years but enjoyed hand sewing most of all. Aline loves Elvis music and comes to all our music entertainment. She is waiting to go on another cruise in May with her family to the Caribbean Islands! She looks forward to good music and food and fellowship on the cruise. Aline is a fun person to be around and her smile is infectious to us all. We are blessed to have her here!
We want to thank Aline for taking the time to share about her life with us. We also would like to thank Rick, the Activities Director at The Hearth at Hendersonville, for helping us build the story of Aline Self.
